1. What preferences are available to me at iSteelAsia.com?
Depending on your user level, you may have the ability to set user preferences, trading preferences, news preferences, and company account preferences.
User preferences provide basic contact information
so iSteelAsia.com can route all appropriate offers to sell and inquiries
to buy to you. They allow you to change your basic account information
(name, phone number, fax number, email address) that you provided during
registration and your preferences for which emails you wish to receive
from iSteelAsia.com. You can also select either English or Chinese as
the language of these e-mails. User preferences are available to every
user registered on a company account, such as a Primary Account User
or an Associate Account User.
Trading preferences are set for Buying and Selling and will affect
which types of offers and inquiries you receive and who receives the
offers and inquires you submit. When you determine your trading preferences
you specify the nature of business and location of your company and what
type of steel you are interested in buying and selling.
News preferences allow you to select which news feeds you will see on your customized News page, which is available by clicking News from your Trading Center. News preferences are available to every user registered on a company account, such as a Primary Account User or an Associate Account User.
Company account preferences allow you to change the basic company information (company name, address, details about your business) that you provided at registration and to maintain Associate User Accounts for your company. Although company account information is available for viewing to all, only the Primary Account User has access to company account preferences.
2. How do I set or change my User preferences?
To set or change User preferences:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences
page.
- Click User Preferences. This displays the User Preferences page.
- Click Edit Information.
- In the First Name field type your first name.
- In the Last/Family Name field type your last name.
- In the Middle Name field type your middle name.
- In the Title field type your job title.
- In the Email Address field type your email address.
- In the Phone Number field type your telephone number.
- In the Fax Number field type your fax number.
- Next to Notification Preferences are three optional email updates
provided by iSteelAsia. Click the checkbox(es) that correspond to
your desired option(s).
- From the drop-down menu in the Notification Language field, select
the option.
- Click Save Changes. This returns you to the User Preferences page.
3. How do I set or change my News preferences?
To set or change News preferences:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences page.
- Click News Preferences. This displays the News Preferences page.
- If necessary, uncheck the options that you not longer want.
- Check the desired options.
- Click Save Changes. This displays the Preferences page.
4. How do I set or change my Selling Preferences?
To set or change your Selling preferences:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences
page.
- Click Trading Preferences. This displays the Trading Preferences
page. There are two sections on this page: Buying Preferences and
Selling Preferences.
- Click Edit Preferences under Selling Preferences. This displays
the Edit Selling Preferences page.
- Select the nature of business(es) of your company. You should
select the same nature of business(es) declared during your registration.
- Click the checkboxes next to the type(s) of steel you are interested
in selling.
- Click Save Changes.
5. How do I set or change my Buying Preferences?
To set or change your Buying preferences:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences
page.
- Click Trading Preferences. This displays the Trading Preferences
page. There are two sections on this page: Buying Preferences and
Selling Preferences.
- Click Edit Buying under Buying Preferences. This displays the
Edit Buying Preferences page.
- Select the nature of business(es) of your company. You should
select the same nature of business(es) declared during your registration.
- Click the checkboxes next to the type(s) of steel your are interested
in buying.
- Click Save Changes.
6. If I am a Primary Account User, how do I set or change my Company Account Preferences?
To set or change Company Account Preferences:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences page.
- Click Company Information. This displays the Company Information page.
- Click Edit.
- Enter the appropriate information in the form provided.
- Click Save Changes. This returns you to the Company Information page.
7. If I am a Primary Account User, how do I add an Associate Account user?
To add an Associate Account User:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences page.
- Click Company Information. This displays the Company Information page.
- Click Create Associate Account User. This displays the Create Associate Account User page.
- In the form provided, enter the information for the new Associate Account User.
- Click Save Changes.
8. If I am a Primary Account User, how do I edit an Associate Account User's information?
To edit an Associate Account User's information:
- Click Preferences at the top of the page. This displays the Preferences page.
- Click Company Information. This displays the Company Information page.
- Click Create Associate Account User. This displays the Create Associate Account User page.
- In the form provided, enter any appropriate changes.
- Click Save Changes.
